Dietary Protocols Used

The average American gains about 10 pounds per decade.  We are well aware that obesity is an increasing problem in our society, even in our children.  Carrying extra weight strains the body — joints are stressed and organs suffer (diabetes and coronary artery disease are just two examples).  Maintaining a healthy weight is an integral part of achieving a healthy and long life.

We employ a progressive series of diet regimens to help patients reach and maintain a healthy weight.

1.  HCG-HRT Diet (Hormonal Replacement with rapid results, 20-30 lbs weight loss per month is common)

2.  Ideal Protein Diet (Physiologically advanced diet with food items created by a French chef)

3.  Zone Diet (A healthy maintenance diet)

4.  Mediterranean Diet (Besides the beautiful scenery, the average Mediterranean person consumes less saturated fat in meat.  They consume more poultry and fish, organic vegetables and olive oil.  Olive oil is a neutral fat that has no deleterious effects on the body, except providing flavor and additional calories.  Fats are considered neutral - if they do not promote an adverse cardiac effect or invoke an inflammatory response.  Avoid highly saturated fats (which are abundant in red meat).  Eat more lean meats such as chicken and turkey, fresh fish and seafood such as shrimp are excellent alternatives.  Avoid margarine and butter which contain inflammatory fats.  These help your diet stay cardioprotective.  Lastly, it has been shown that drinking red wine in moderation has a beneficial effect.  This can now be traced to the compound Resveratrol.  In a super concentrated form, one Resveratrol pill equals 20 bottles of wine.  Do the math on this one.
